Baierbrunn: Municipal council puts pressure on the inn – district of Munich

Ideally, the Dorfwirtshaus is a public living room where you can eat well and where a timeless flair of cosiness unfolds. Since the closure of the “Zur Post” inn in the summer of 2019, Baierbrunn has been a place without an inn. And from the point of view of numerous local councillors, the town hall administration and mayor Patrick Ott (ÜWG) have made themselves a little too comfortable when it comes to trying to change this situation.

Specifically, the aim is to pave the way for the establishment of professional catering in the Wirthsfeld sports and community center – a request that is generally appreciated and that the municipal councils had already endorsed in a resolution in a meeting on January 18th. However, since not much has happened since then, the municipal administration has now been obliged to develop a concrete project schedule by the March 2023 meeting and to present a feasibility study for the entire building. The funds required for implementation are to be included in the 2023 budget.

“Thank you for the clear definition of homework to the mayor and administration,” said Ott. Among other things, this involves the clarification of legal and structural options for the change of use, questions of fire protection, statics and energetic upgrading. It was important for Christian Kaldenbach (ÜWG) to emphasize that it was not just about the central part of the sports and community center previously used by SC Baierbrunn, but that a concept had to be developed for the entire building. The costs for the necessary conversions – as a prerequisite for the official approval of the change of use – are currently estimated to be between 350,000 and 600,000 euros, depending on the quality and number of measures. The existing kitchen needs to be significantly expanded. In addition, it should be clarified how the local clubs in addition to the SCB – Trachtler and Altschützen – can be integrated and their concerns about the conversion dispelled.

The Waldgasthof Buchenhain remains the only gastronomy in the community for the time being

The reason for the discussion in the municipal council, in which critical words were spoken about the administration across all factions, was a motion by Peter Tilmann and Robert Gerb (both Greens) and Sascha Lechner (ÜWG), who referred to the decision from the January meeting , which demanded the timely realization of a round table and the setting of budget funds. “Our motivation was to get things going,” said Tilmann. This has been successful – even if the idea of ​​a round table with the participation of the clubs was rejected for the time being.

Ott generally accepted the criticism, but pointed out that the promotion of the conversion had been postponed at the beginning of the year due to difficult budget negotiations and savings requests on the part of the municipal council. “If I don’t have the appropriate funds, I can’t give any planning orders,” he told the SZ. He also had good news when it came to finances: the municipality recently raised around 470,000 euros from the sale of land, and further sales are in the pipeline. However, it will probably be a long and probably not exactly comfortable way until Baierbrunn could have an inn in the sports and civic center. Until then, the Waldgasthof in the Buchenhain district will remain the only gastronomy in the community.
