Bahrain Masters
Darts youngster Littler achieves another record
The 16-year-old Brit is writing darts history in Bahrain. He manages a nine-darter: nine darts for 501 points.
Littler made the perfect leg in the quarter-final against his compatriot Nathan Aspinall. He is the youngest player to achieve the perfect leg in front of TV cameras. “I think I played really well,” he said after scoring 501 points with just nine arrows: “The first of the year goes to me.”
When Littler had done it, he spread his arms and looked at the roaring audience, laughing. His opponent, who was also beaten in the end, applauded with respect before congratulating Littler with a hug at the Masters at the Bahrain International Circuit. At the age of not quite 18, former world champion Michael van Gerwen from the Netherlands was the youngest professional to achieve the perfect leg. That was 2007.
