Bad Reichenhall: 77-year-old seriously injured in fire in retirement home – Bavaria

Two residents were injured in a fire in a retirement home in Bad Reichenhall, Upper Bavaria, on Tuesday, one of them seriously. A 77-year-old with serious burn injuries was flown by helicopter to a special clinic, the police said. A second resident suffered minor injuries.

According to the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK), a total of eight residents and employees were taken to an adjacent clinic for further monitoring because of possible smoke inhalation. According to police, the cause of the fire initially remained unclear. According to BRK information, the fire broke out in a room on the second floor of the facility.
