B2 near Spatzenhausen: Serious car accident in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district – Bavaria

On Federal Road 2 (B2) near Spatzenhausen in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district, two cars collided head-on at around 8:50 a.m. on Saturday morning. In the serious accident, a total of three people in the vehicles were trapped and had to be freed by rescue workers, says a spokesman for the Upper Bavaria South police headquarters. Two of the occupants sustained serious injuries. The injured were taken to hospital and are now being treated there, the spokesman said.

The B2 was temporarily closed by the police at the scene of the accident. An accident expert is currently working on site and is expected to determine the cause of the accident. The B2 is a road frequented by many day and weekend trippers and runs from Starnberg via Weilheim and Murnau to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Mittenwald.
