Axel Schweitzer: “Many manufacturers don’t think in cycles” – Economy

His parents set up the Alba waste disposal company, and Axel Schweitzer got involved early on. He explains why it is not a contradiction to demand waste avoidance as a waste entrepreneur and why he would like to see more political guidelines.

Axel Schweitzer welcomes you in the meeting room of a simple office building on the outskirts of Cologne. The 54-year-old lives with his family in Singapore, but is regularly in Germany and Europe for appointments. The engineer with a doctorate owns the recycling companies Alba Group Asia in Singapore and Interzero in Cologne and Berlin. Interzero processes, among other things, the packaging waste from the Germans’ yellow bags. The company with 2,000 employees emerged from the Berlin waste disposal company Alba, which Axel Schweitzer’s brother Eric owns. The brothers are repeatedly listed as multimillionaires on rich lists.
