The drama “Die” by director Matthias Glasner has been nominated for the German Film Prize nine times, more often than any other production. The three-hour film about the everyday life of a broken family was nominated as the best feature film, among other things, as the German Film Academy announced. Corinna Harfouch and Lars Eidinger can be seen in leading roles. Glasner received the Silver Bear for the best screenplay at this year’s Berlinale. In the film, the director dealt with the complex relationship with his family.

The thriller “The Theory of Everything” by Timm Kröger has six nominations. The black and white work starring Jan Bülow was screened in competition at the Venice Film Festival in 2023 and is a homage to film history. “The Theory of Everything” is also in the running for the Golden Lola for best feature film.

A total of six titles are nominated in this category. These include: the historical film “The Fox”, the film adaptation “A Whole Life” based on a novel by Robert Seethaler, “Im dead Winkel” by director Ayşe Polat and the drama “Elaha”.

The awards are scheduled to be presented on May 3rd in Berlin. The film prize is endowed with a total of around three million euros and is one of the most important awards in the industry. Last year, Ilker Çatak’s drama “The Teacher’s Room” won the Golden Lola as best feature film.
