A holiday home brokerage portal evaluated its data and awarded prizes to the top offers. These ten received awards.

The platform for holiday apartments and houses FeWo-direkt has for the third time since 2022 the holiday homes of the year in Germany and Europe were chosen. The initiative recognizes accommodations that stand out for their quality, uniqueness and guest satisfaction. A total of ten holiday homes, five in Germany and five across Europe, were awarded the title in 2024.

The “Idyllic Cottage” is located on the Bavarian Wörthsee and was given an average five-star rating by former guests. The travelers not only liked the proximity to the lake, but also the 3,000 square meter private park, which is home to around 40 deer. The house can accommodate up to five people and features an open-plan living, cooking and dining area as well as modern amenities.

Germany’s holiday home elite

The spa holiday home in Hünzingen near Walsrode, Lower Saxony, was created from a formerly overgrown farm. It now offers a comprehensive wellness experience in the Lüneburg Heath with an igloo sauna, rain shower and hot tub, surrounded by nature. Also in Lower Saxony, in Balje, the holiday home “OaSee” stands out: with a 3,500 square meter private lake that is ideal for swimming and boating.

The “Hausboot Preissnitz” in Hamburg offers a unique experience of living on the water. With modern equipment and sustainable concepts, such as the use of green electricity, it offers a special flair in an urban environment. The “Fortuna 1853” windmill in Dörpling, Schleswig-Holstein also received an award. Visitors attest that the lovingly restored mill offers an incomparable feeling of living and a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape.

Across Europe, the focus is on exclusivity and luxury

In Malta, FeWo-direkt awards the Villa Barracuda in Marsaskala. The luxurious house offers spectacular sea views, a rooftop infinity pool and space for up to 21 people. In addition to eight bedrooms, a poker room and a cinema room, there are other amenities such as a heated indoor pool and a sauna.

When it comes to luxury, the French villa Hollywood on Lac d’Annecy is in no way inferior to the Maltese eye-catcher: an extensive terrace connects the main house and the side house, creating several lounge areas, including a pool with a counter-current system. The location of the house for up to ten people in the Savoy is suitable for both summer and winter holidays.

In Sweden, FeWo-direkt has awarded Villa Stenkulla on the archipelago island of Stegesund with its private lake property and historical charm. The villa features a large veranda with lake views and private docks, offering an authentic Scandinavian experience. There is space for up to twelve people in the main house and the two side houses, built in 1909.

A Georgian townhouse that was built in Edinburgh, Scotland as part of the New Town built in the 18th century also represents luxury. Here, guests can immerse themselves in the history of that time, surrounded by historically elegant furnishings. The house can accommodate up to 13 guests in six bedrooms.

The Dovje Eco Lodge in Slovenia is a little more rustic, a traditional stone house in the Alps. Here you really are among yourself, because the low-energy house is in complete isolation in the middle of nature. There is space for up to eight people here; one of the bedrooms is a loft on the first floor, from which you can look out over the Alpine panorama.
