Autopsy of schoolboy who fell after being vaccinated confirms death from “head trauma”

The day after the announcement of the death of a schoolboy who suffered from illness fifteen minutes after a vaccine injection against the papillomavirus (HPV) on October 19 in Saint-Herblain (Loire-Atlantique), the Nantes public prosecutor revealed the autopsy results. This confirms a death linked to head trauma. “After having this vaccination, the student indicated that he did not feel well. He was seated on a chair. And, a few moments later, he fell heavily on the back of his head,” explains Renaud Gaudeul, prosecutor.

“The autopsy revealed that the cause of death lay in the occurrence of a craniocerebral trauma, continues Renaud Gaudeul. We have no evidence to confirm that the vaccine product itself caused the death. The cause of death was the injury caused by the fall. »

A preliminary investigation into manslaughter was opened by the Nantes public prosecutor’s office. It aims to establish the “conditions for caring for the minor before, during and after this act of vaccination”, specifies the prosecutor. Additional investigations, particularly medical expertise, will be carried out to determine the origin of the discomfort.

“Stress caused by vaccination”

The victim is a boy aged 12 and in 5th grade. The vaccination session took place on October 19 within the confines of his educational establishment, the Saint-Dominique private college in Saint-Herblain, in the Nantes suburbs. Hospitalized directly after his fall, the teenager finally died on Friday October 27.

“This type of discomfort can occur due to the stress caused by vaccination but is unrelated to the vaccine product or to a quality defect in the vaccine,” assures the regional health agency (ARS) of Pays-de-la-Loire.

Before the National Assembly on Monday, the Minister of Health, Aurélien Rousseau, declared, also read, that this type of discomfort was “the main adverse effect of any form of vaccination” and that it had “no link with the injected product. “As I speak to you, approximately 20,000 vaccines have been injected, this is the only serious, tragic adverse event that we have had to experience,” said the minister.

The HPV vaccination campaign started at the beginning of October for 5th grade students. Each year in France, “human papillomaviruses” are responsible for more than 6,000 new cases of cancer, most often of the cervix.
