The public prosecutor’s office in Potsdam is investigating against the US electric car manufacturer Tesla because of the unauthorized operation of a temporary hazardous materials storage facility in the Grünheide factory. The procedure is based on a criminal complaint by the Brandenburg State Office for the Environment (LfU) against those responsible for the German Tesla plant, the Potsdam public prosecutor confirmed on Monday a report by rbb. The object of the investigations is, among other things, to examine whether and, if so, to whom a criminal charge can be made against the background of the difficulty of the factual and legal situation with regard to the need for approval. Tesla and the LfU were initially unable to comment.
