10:29 am Barty-Keys 6-1, 2-2

Again Keys has to go over debut. But important for the American: She stays focused and wins the game to make it 2-2. She turns the decisive point with a first-class placed backhand from the half field.

10:21 am Barty-Keys 6-1, 1-1

Barty easily wins her first game in the second set. Keys has a little more difficulty, but still manages to make it 1:1 with her service.

10:13am Barty-Keys 6-1

After 26 minutes, Barty has the next two break points, which are also set points. And she transforms the first one with the return along the line. 6:1 for Barty after a very safe first set. She still has some room for improvement. The first serve came relatively infrequently. But the world number one scored a lot of quick points with a strong and safe second service.

10:09am Barty-Keys 5-1

But now, after a forehand error, Barty has to go over the debut for the first time. She misses a forehand, the ball goes wide and Keys has breakball. However, Barty defends it with an ace. It goes several times over debut. But Barty still gets the game to 5:1, gets the decisive point with a service winner.

10:03am Barty-Keys 4-1

After a clever slice from Barty, Keys’ backhand lands in the net. Barty has breakball again. And the Australian transforms that with a forehand directly onto the baseline. And that could have been the preliminary decision in sentence one. Two breaks ahead for Barty are already a word.

9:59 am Barty-Keys 3-1

Keys doesn’t have any difficulties either, wins their game 1:2 in a quick run. But as long as she doesn’t get the rhythm in Barty’s service games, that won’t help the American in set one. And the Australian is currently making a lot of free points through the service. With a great longline, she increases to 3:1.

9:55 – Barty – Keys – 2-0

And if you consider that she didn’t serve more than 60 times in a row up to and including the middle of the Australian Open, a break from Barty is worth a lot. In any case, the Australian has no trouble in her first service and increases to 2-0.

9:50am Barty-Keys 1-0

Let’s start with Serve Keys. And after a Dehler from the American at the slice, things get a little tighter. She has to go beyond debut. With a strong forehand, Barty gets the break chance. And the favorite transforms this with a forehand cross from the T-line. 1-0 to Barty.
