The remuneration of volunteer teachers will now be doubled to reach “€156 for 3 hours” of internship.

The Minister of National Education wants to put in place a special system for middle school students “experiencing the greatest difficulties” in mathematics and French.

“They will now be able to benefit from adapted schooling: the hourly volume of these disciplines could be significantly increased, with a temporary reduction in courses in other disciplines,” announces Gabriel Attal in his letter to teachers.

Gabriel Attal wants to toughen up the grading of the final baccalaureate exams, now partly assessed through continuous assessment.

Currently, each copy of the baccalaureate can be graded upwards when a student is close to the average necessary to validate the diploma.

“I will issue a circular which will remove the ‘academic correction’ from the 2024 baccalaureate session. It is from now on the grades that you award, and they alone, which will determine their achievement by our students,” wrote the minister in the same letter.

In this letter addressed to National Education staff, Gabriel Attal announces that he is putting an end to the “academic correction which “artificially reevaluates” the certificate grades.
