Is Germany indirectly financing Hamas’ terror against Israel? After the weekend attack, there are calls in political Berlin to stop payments of development aid to the Palestinian territories (Gaza Strip and West Bank), or at least to critically review them.
Among other things, CDU security politician Roderich Kiesewetter called on the federal government to “freeze the funds so as not to indirectly finance terror against Israel.” Promised payments amounting to millions must “now be stopped immediately”. Even FDP Federal Finance Minister Christian Linder demanded a decision on future payments from Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (Greens).
