As so often happens, the perpetrators came in the dead of night. They attached packages of explosives the size of a chocolate bar to an ATM in a supermarket complex in Pfungstadt, Hesse, not far from Darmstadt. At around 12:30 a.m. on November 7th there was a loud bang. The three perpetrators gathered the five-figure amount of cash that was uncovered. The action only lasted a few minutes.
