At LR, Bruno Retailleau puts pressure on Aurélien Pradié to vote for the text

The divisions on the pension reform are once again displayed in broad daylight among the Republicans. The boss of the senators LR Bruno Retailleau indeed estimates in the JDD that Aurélien Pradié will have to leave his post as executive vice-president of the party if he does not vote for the text as he is threatening to do so.

To the question “Can Aurélien Pradié remain number two in the party? “The senator from Vendée assures that” if he does not vote for the postponement of the legal age, no”. Elected deputy for Lot on a line of “popular right”, Aurélien Pradié asks for guarantees on long careers, to the chagrin of several LRs who are worried about the credibility of the Republicans if they prevent the adoption of a reform taking up many markers from the right.

Retailleau advises to “stop the one-upmanship”

“Being on the right is not being a little less on the left than the left”, affirms Bruno Retailleau, according to whom “we must stop the one-upmanship”. Because “if the government accepted the 43 annuities for all those who started working before the age of 21, on the sole condition that they had contributed one quarter, that would derail the reform”.

While the text arrives on February 27 in the Senate, “we have decided (…) to open a maximum of days of debate so that the Senate has time to examine this reform in depth”, specifies Bruno Retailleau. He also intends to make several proposals, in particular that women who have raised at least three children “have the choice: to work until the age of 64 and benefit from a bonus on their pension, or to opt for an early departure at 63”. .

“We will defend a survivor’s pension for orphaned disabled children” and “we also want to shift the age of cancellation of the discount for special schemes by two years”, he also adds. As for the introduction of a share of capitalization, “we will open this debate”, promises the senator.
