Aschheim / Haar – Two accidents on the A 99 – Munich district

Two serious accidents severely affected traffic on the east bypass of the A 99 in both directions on Monday. At around 1:25 p.m., a 59-year-old from the Munich district came into a skid at the Munich-East motorway junction in the direction of Stuttgart, then hit a tractor-trailer and the guardrail and then collided with another vehicle. After the collision, the vehicle came to a halt on the hard shoulder. The 59-year-old was rescued from his vehicle by first aiders, the rescuers immediately provided first aid and initiated resuscitation measures until the emergency doctor and the rescue service took over. The man had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries. The investigators assume that he was skidded due to health problems. Due to the operation, the main lane of the A 99 was closed for about two hours, the traffic was directed via the secondary lane.

About an hour later, around 2:30 p.m., a 57-year-old truck driver heading for Salzburg noticed too late that the traffic had stalled. On the right-hand lane, his truck crashed into another articulated lorry, which was pushed onto another truck as a result of the collision. Nobody was injured in the collisions. However, the truck whose driver had caused the accident was loaded with manure, which leaked as a result of the collision and seeped into the adjacent soil. The volunteer fire brigades from Aschheim and Unterföhring pumped the fertilizer out of the damaged containers, only then could the truck be recovered. As a result of the operation, the Aschheim junction was completely closed for about six hours; traffic on the A 99 could only flow past the accident site via the left lane. The contaminated soil was inspected by the water management office. The combined damage of about 60,000 euros was caused in both accidents.
