Germany has been heavily criticized for its stance on arms deliveries to Ukraine. But what do the other countries deliver?

Panzerfausts, hand grenades and machine guns, but no tanks or heavy artillery – this is the balance of German arms deliveries to Ukraine so far. No heavy weapons are to be delivered to Ukraine from the Bundeswehr stocks in the future either.

On a list of offers from German industry, there are only twelve mortars that can be classified in this category. In addition, countries that deliver heavy weapons of Soviet design to Ukraine should receive replacements from Germany.

Meanwhile, more and more NATO partners are announcing that they will also directly supply heavy weapons for Ukraine’s fight against the Russian attackers. Heavy weapons are main battle tanks and armored personnel carriers, heavy artillery, warships, combat aircraft and helicopters, and larger, heavily armored vehicles. An overview:

  • The USA, militarily the strongest NATO partner by far, has promised the following heavy weapons and has probably already delivered some of them: 11 Mi-17 helicopters of Russian design, 200 M113 armored personnel carriers, a total of 90 howitzers with a caliber of 155 millimeters plus Ammunition.
  • France has long been silent on its arms deliveries. On Friday, however, President Emmanuel Macron said for the first time what his country is supplying, including the Caesar howitzer (155 millimeter caliber), a heavy artillery piece.
  • Slovakia has delivered its only S-300 air defense system. Fighter planes and tanks are discussed.
  • The Czech Republic is said to have supplied Soviet-designed T-72 main battle tanks and BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles, but this has not been officially confirmed.
  • Estonia has delivered nine howitzers (caliber 122 millimeters) of Soviet design to Ukraine, which originally come from East German stocks.
  • Lithuania has supplied heavy mortars.
  • In Poland there are rumors about the delivery of T-72 tanks. The country has also offered combat aircraft.
  • Turkey had already sold several Bayraktar TB2 combat drones to Ukraine before the war, 12 of which are said to have been delivered. There is no official information on deliveries during the war.
  • Britain has promised Kyiv 150 armored vehicles. It is said to be the heavily armored “Mastiff” type.
  • The Netherlands has announced the delivery of heavy weapons without specifying which ones. According to reports, 2000 self-propelled howitzers are among them.
