Regional elections: Top and flop of the first round – 20 minutes

Also declared a presidential candidate, Xavier Bertrand collects between 39% and 46.9% of the votes according to estimates, far ahead of his rival of the RN, Sébastien Chenu (from 22.5% to 24.4%), while the candidate of the presidential majority Laurent Pietraszewski is not qualified according to estimates for the second round (between 7.3% and 9.1%).
The RN is “my one and only enemy”
“Here we have loosened, to break them, the jaws of the National Front, their demagoguery, their sterile proposals, their intolerance, everything that divides and everything that is the National Front”, he declared from his stronghold of Saint-Quentin, in the Aisne.
Xavier Bertrand, who conditioned his candidacy for the presidential election on his victory in the regional elections, thus appears to be comforted in his race for the Elysee Palace. “I took my responsibilities by making the FN my one and only enemy,” he assures us.
“From tomorrow morning, I will confirm the submission of the same list, with the same ambition and the same project: to fight for you”, he said again, using the slogan of his campaign.
