Argentina exceeds 100,000 dead threshold

In its fight against the coronavirus, Argentina has just crossed a sadly symbolic bar. The country has indeed exceeded 100,000 deaths from Covid-19 on Wednesday, according to the latest figures from the Ministry of Health.

The number of deaths in the country of 45 million inhabitants is 100,250 for more than 4.7 million reported cases. The dynamics of infections are showing signs of slowing, however, as the country has accelerated its vaccination plan for several weeks.

The occupancy rate of intensive care beds is now 62.2% in Argentina, against 80% in April, and 60.1% in the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires, where a third of Argentines live. More than 20 million people have received at least one dose of the vaccine and more than 5 million are fully immune.
