Gilang Widya Pramana made a tearful appearance on Indonesian television on Monday. The president of Arema FC, located in Malang (east of the island of Java), indeed returned to the drama which marked the football match between his club and Persebaya Surabaya on Saturday. The leader offered his “deep apologies” after the tragic crowd movement that led to the death of at least 125 spectators at Kanjuruhan Stadium.
“As president of the club of Arema FC, I take full responsibility for any incidents that have occurred. I offer my deepest apologies to the victims, their families, the Indonesians and La Liga 1,” said Gilang Widya Pramana.
