Arcom seized after Cyril Hanouna’s insults to LFI MP Louis Boyard

Arcom, the audiovisual policeman, indicated on November 11 that it had been seized after the heated exchange Thursday evening between the host Cyril Hanouna and the deputy LFI Louis Boyard in the program Do not touch My TV on C8.

“We are seized and we will examine the sequence with regard to the obligations of the publisher,” said Arcom to AFP, without specifying whether the referral came from LFI or viewers.

A “very serious” sequence, according to LFI

“What happened this [jeudi] evening on Do not touch My TV is extremely serious (…) We are seizing the Arcom, ”wrote the same evening on Twitter the president of the deputies LFI Mathilde Panot.

The stormy exchange of about ten minutes took place during a sequence of the program devoted to the reception of the migrant boat Ocean Viking.

Invited on the set, Louis Boyard, elected deputy in June and former columnist of the show, pointed the finger at the “five richest people” in France, who according to him “impoverish Africa”. He quoted billionaire Vincent Bolloré, shareholder of companies in Africa and owner of the Canal+ group, to which C8 belongs.

“Bolloré gave you money”

“You are in the Bolloré group here,” replied Cyril Hanouna. “Bolloré gave you money since you were a columnist here [et] it did not bother you”, he continued, accusing the deputy of having wanted “to make a splash”.

The tone gradually rose. “You’re a shit”, in particular launched the host to the deputy, after having insulted him of “jester” or “tocard”. Louis Boyard accused Cyril Hanouna of being “irresponsible” who “harms France” by promoting racism in particular on his show.

The deputy finally left the set under the boos of the public.
