Archaeologists discover traces of settlement on the Lerchenauer Feld – Munich

This needle was not found in a pile of hay, but in a pile of rocks – here on the Lerchenauer Feld, which is about the size of 32 football pitches. Somewhere there was the bronze pen, just a few centimeters in size, which now lies in front of Mathias Pfeil in a black typecase and makes the eyes of the general curator of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation (BLfD) light up. “This pin seems inconspicuous, but just look at how finely decorated it is,” says Pfeil enthusiastically as he examines the piece of jewelry with a magnifying glass. “This is incredibly exciting for archaeologists.”
