Apple invests another billion and secures more and more space in the city center. More than 2,000 employees will develop chips on the future campus. Another tech giant is spreading in the same quarter.

If it’s important, the boss has to do it. When Apple boss Tim Cook looked at the new “Karl” office building in Munich’s Maxvorstadt district, designed by star architect David Chipperfield, it wasn’t just about whether everything looked stylish enough by Apple standards – even that Thermostats bear the logo with the apple. The company wanted more. More building land nearby. And that’s why Cook had come here in the first place. Six months later, the group has spread as one of the largest players in the district near the main train station – and is investing even more money in the location.
