Apple Event 2022 live ticker: iPhone, iPad, MacBooks, Mac Mini – and more?

The first Apple event in 2022 is coming up – “Peek Performance” is the motto. New iPhones, iPads and fresh Macs may be on the agenda. Also under discussion are professional devices, which are usually the focus of attention at the “WWDC” developer fair in June. Follow the event on the live blog.
“Peek Performance” – in English: “Our idea of performance”. That is the motto of the first Apple event in 2022. Once again Apple is presenting its products virtually from the Apple Park, but this time there is no invited audience on site either. Maybe for the last time, because Apple will soon be calling its employees back to the offices – and sooner or later, guests too.
The rumor mill is relatively divided when it comes to new products. At least one new iPad and a refreshed iPhone SE are considered set. If Apple also keeps the “old” iPhone SE in its portfolio, it could become the cheapest iPhone to date – for a price of less than 200 euros.
In addition, at least one new Mac with Apple’s own chips is expected, but Apple will probably present a whole range of fresh devices right away. A refurbished Mac Mini, new iMacs and updated MacBook Pros would be possible.
But it couldn’t stay true to the motto, because Apple suggests that tonight is about “performance”. If this is an allusion to the professional devices like the Mac Pro or the iMac Pro, which are rather neglected, that would be a real surprise. It would be similar with the presentation of a successor to the Apple Pro Display XDR, which was last on stage in 2019.
