Babak Hodjat always wanted to know. He was interested in how computers work, down to the bits and transistors on the chips. So he studied computer science. He quickly learned how computer brains work. But that led to another question: How does the human brain actually work? So he turned to a field that was “an absolute niche subject” back in the 1980s: artificial intelligence (AI).
