“Antigone” at the Munich Residenztheater – culture

from

Christine Dossel

This “Antigone” in Munich’s Residenztheater will be played twice. Twice in a row. But from different angles and with different endings. It is an “Antigone” experiment in a text-space setting. That sounds like a coolly rational construct, and it is. A brainteaser set by the director Mateja Koležnik. The philosopher Slavoj Žižek, who comes from Slovenia like her, contributed his play “The Three Lives of Antigone”, which premiered in Zagreb in 2019. A piece that he sees as an “ethical-political exercise”.
