Anti-Semitism: Reading series with texts by Jewish artists – Munich

Writing and art are often seen as ways to cope with grief. But what if the causes of the pain are a past terrorist attack, an ongoing war and an uncertain future? Israeli and diasporic writers and playwrights are writing literary texts about this drastic situation in the “Writing about ‘The Situation’” project run by the Institute for New Social Sculpture.

The second edition of the reading series is now taking place at the Munich Kammerspiele. The ensemble members Anja Signitzer, Leoni Schulz and Edmund Telgenkämper present newly created texts, this time by Roy Chen, Avishai Milstein and Julya Rabinowich. Projections of Israeli art created after the Hamas massacre will also accompany the evening. The subsequent conversation, moderated by Rachel Salamander, also offers space for further exchange.

Writing about “The Situation” #2, Monday, April 8th, 8 p.m., Münchner Kammerspiele, Therese-Giehse-Halle, muenchner-kammerspiele.de
