A big ahoy to the 30th birthday: Ebersberg’s stage celebrates itself and its audience as always with a wonderfully absurd in-house production, this time the “MS Old Cinema” rushes through the stormy sea of high cabaret. But it’s no wonder, because there’s a whole group of creative spirits behind the Altes Kino: the association once emerged from the cabaret group Valtortawhich was even awarded the German cabaret prize in 1995.

Please stop is still the word in the district town. The demand goes to the Deutsche Bahn, specifically they should set up a train station or at least a so-called breakpoint in the district of Oberndorf, as it existed until 1981. An initial statement by Deutsche Bahn was negative, but the responsible city council committee decided in mid-October to uphold the claim.

It has been on the agenda for three years, a women’s shelter for the district of Ebersberg. At the end of October it is clear that construction can begin next year. The district will spend a good 2.2 million euros on this, but the need is undisputed in politics: There is such a facility in Erding, which is theoretically also responsible for Ebersberg, but is usually occupied.

There is still a good month until New Year’s Eve, but there are still fireworks in Anzing at the end of November. However, one with a criminal background: Unknowns blow up the ATM on Mühldorfer Straße and escape unnoticed. As a result, the Kreissparkasse München-Starnberg-Ebersberg announced increased security measures such as a security service and the closure of particularly poorly secured money issuing offices.

A long-awaited newcomer arrives in Vaterstetten at the end of November: the mechanical engineering company Krauss-Maffei begins moving to the Parsdorf III industrial park. This should be completed in the coming year, and the municipality is hoping for a significant increase in trade tax revenue.

During the pandemic, the hall in the old savings bank building was used for meetings of the district council because enough distance can be kept there. Now it is supposed to remedy another crisis: in November it will be converted into a dormitory for asylum seekers. The district wants to prevent gymnasiums from having to be occupied again, as was the case in 2015. Beds for 52 people are set up, along with sanitary containers. The first residents will move in at the end of the month. When the vaccination center in the Sparkasse building closes at the end of the year, additional capacities are to be created there for a total of up to 200 people.

There was trouble about an honorary citizen in Grafing at the beginning of December. It’s not about the person – former mayor Alois Kleinmaier – but about the way in which a narrow majority of the city council around the current city hall chief Christian Bauer pushed the decision through. Some suspect that the mayor wants to establish an automatism whereby all former heads of administration would become honorary citizens in the future.
