This is how the heavy metal crime scene from Kiel becomes

In “Crime Scene: Borowski and the Innocent Child from Wacken,” the Kiel detectives investigate the North German heavy metal scene.
The commissioner is celebrating his 20th anniversary Borowski (Axel Milberg, 67) and his colleague Mila Sahin (Almila Bagriaçik, 33) investigate the case of a murdered infant. Their investigations lead them into the opaque environment of the heavy metal festival in Wacken.
That’s what “Crime Scene: Borowski and the Innocent Child from Wacken” is about
The body of an infant is found in a parking lot near Kiel, wrapped in a conspicuous jacket. The grisly discovery causes Inspector Borowski to cut short his camping holiday to help his colleague Mila Sahin with the investigation.
After an entry wristband for the upcoming heavy metal festival in Wacken was found in the jacket, the investigative team sets off for the northern German province. A few days before the iconic mega-spectacle, they open an improvised commissariat in the local funeral home and immerse themselves in the cosmos of Wacken. They receive support from local police officer Waltraude Jensen (Regine Hentschel, 59), who is also a die-hard metal fan.
It quickly becomes clear that almost everyone on the Holy Ground has a secret. Initially, the investigation focuses on festival caterer Michi Berger (Nikolaus Okonkwo, 60), who took a young Eastern European mother and baby with him on his way to Wacken. Berger has a secret relationship with the undertaker Meike Thomsen, whose son Jan (Marven Gabriel Suarez-Brinkert, 20) of course plays in a dark metal band.
Lenny Jensen (Nicolas Dinkel, 34), the son of the village police officer, soon finds himself on the list of suspects. Lenny runs a “Wacken Fan Shop” with moderate enthusiasm and otherwise hides behind huge monitors in his dark place to record heavy metal podcasts. In addition to hard rock music, he has a passion for young Eastern European women, whom he pursues on shady relationship portals.
When evaluating his surveillance cameras, the investigators discovered the woman and baby they were looking for through her distinctive jacket. Apparently she came to Wacken to look for someone before she disappeared. Possibly the child’s father, who then got both of them out of the way?
In the confusion of the investigation, the married couple Sarah (Anja Schneider, 46) and Kurt Stindt (Andreas Döhler, 49), operators of the heavy metal bar and the farm shop, end up in the sights of the Kiel inspectors. Sarah Stindt is heavily pregnant and it seems that the two of them are currently preparing for the perfect family happiness. But Borowski’s intuition tells him that nothing is as it seems at first glance.
The search for the woman who disappeared on the Holy Ground continues and has a few unexpected twists in store…
Is it worth turning on?
Yes. Simply because this crime scene not only marks Axel Milberg’s 20th anniversary as a “crime scene” investigator, but also his penultimate appearance as Inspector Borowski. At the end of January 2024, he will film another final case, after which his colleague Sahin will take over his position and continue with a new team.
In “Tatort: The Innocent Child of Wacken” you can experience Klaus Borowski again in all his casual glory. Even more than in previous cases, he relies on his intuition and knowledge of human nature, while his colleagues follow their well-established investigative routines. Since the script, which is designed as a confusing game, repeatedly leads inspectors and viewers on the wrong path, his instinct-driven approach ultimately proves to be effective.
The original setting of the Wacken open-air area almost automatically results in an exciting setting with interesting characters. Seeing Inspector Borowski roaming around among heavy metal disciples in a brown corduroy suit always creates original contrasts. As a special highlight, the original co-organizer and festival founder Thomas Jensen (56) also makes several small appearances in which he convincingly portrays himself.
The external circumstances of the case are also reflected in the extraordinary soundtrack, which underlines the investigation with hard rock and heavy metal classics from Slipnot, Motörhead and Judas Priest. Even Inspector Borowski can no longer escape the magical power of metal in the grand finale…
