It’s almost gone! Foretold for months, the presidential candidacy of Anne Hidalgo should be confirmed on Sunday in Rouen, according to sources inside the Socialist Party. The mayor PS of Paris should, the same evening, be the guest of the 20 hours of TF1. The candidacy of Anne Hidalgo is supported by the first secretary of the PS Olivier Faure and suffers from little dispute within the party. It should allow him to avoid an internal primary.
Since her re-election as mayor of Paris in June 2020, Anne Hidalgo has been increasing the signals for a candidacy. She had however ruled out the hypothesis of a presidential candidacy before the municipal elections.
