The most sovereign reaction to the new allegations against Annalena Baerbock and her book came from the FDP, which competes most bitterly with the Greens for a bourgeois audience. “Come on guys! Cool off! There are really more important things,” wrote Marco Buschmann, the parliamentary manager of the FDP parliamentary group on Twitter. “Everyone knows that books by top candidates before the election tend to have the literary quality of an advertising brochure. There is seldom a really original thought in them.”
