Animoca Brands, a game and virtual reality company, said it has acquired Grease Monkey Games, a mobile-focused game development studio.
“Current management of Grease Monkey Games will continue after the acquisition. It will work closely with Animoca Brands to coordinate efforts related to blockchain integration, fungible tokens, NFT tokens, play-to-earn, collaboration opportunities and product launches. Especially in relation to Animoca Brands’ REVV Motorsport ecosystem,” Animoca said in an emailed statement.
Until now, Grease Monkey Games, an Australian company has created a game related to motorsports , 2015 Torque Burnout and Torque Drift 2017, both of which are free-to-play games featuring licensed cars from popular automakers.
“Grease Monkey Games doesn’t just add to our list of exciting games. It also greatly enhances our development capabilities,” said Yat Siu, Animoca Brands Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of the deal.
