Magi is still in development and is several months away as announced.atPosted by crypto engineer Noah Citron.

This project is a new client for the OP Stack, an open-source development stack powered by Optimism. It is written in Rust and is intended to be a faster alternative to the op-node, a rollup client that Only one exists, maintained by OP Labs, and written in the Go programming language.

“Magi acts as a consensus client (often referred to as a rollup client in the context of the OP Stack) in Ethereum’s traditional execution/consensus,” Citron wrote.

On Tuesday, Citron tweeted an “orange dot” along with the text “coming soon,” which Twitter users linked to Coinbase’s similar blue dot tweet ahead of the Optimism-based Layer 2 announcement. A16z Chief Technology Officer Eddy Lazzarin replied that his company is not running on Layer 2 blockchain.
