Not everything is always “Hulapalu”. Even if even Andreas Gabalier’s fans don’t even know exactly what that actually is. Something with “sexy” and “lochen” and “Sterndal see” and “Hodiodioooodiooodie” just like most things about Austria’s most successful hit pop export entrepreneur. But the Graz resident, who will turn 39 on November 21st, also has the “Amoi bless us again” page. He once wrote this honestly touching mourning hit for his father and sister, who died young. And even if a current bereavement in his circle of friends is not comparable, many media and fans are currently drawing a connection to it.
In any case, Gabalier is currently mourning the loss of his friend and business partner Michi Pachleitner, an optics manufacturer, on his Instagram profile. The fans, i.e. the extended family circle, join in and praise her “Gabalier sunglasses”, which are of the best quality.
That’s how it is with the “Volks’Rockn’Roller” and its followers, joy and sorrow are close together, sometimes there is also a bit of argument. When Gabalier irritates the woke media people and world watchdogs with his simple world view of “manderls” and “women”. And then he gets annoyed, just again defaultthat his clear commitment to a society in which everyone is allowed to like everyone as they want, as expressed in the song “Liebeleben”, is ignored. So he is concerned about the “culture of argument” in Austria, and probably also in Germany.
It’s not easy for him, because despite all his worries, he has to do “Hulalalu” and “Hodiodiodie” again, now at the grand finale of his tour on November 4th in Vienna. With the “completely sold out” concert tour called “Dirndl-Wahnsinn-Hulapalu” Gabalier allegedly broke some of (his) records; 300,000 guests came to his 26 concerts in three countries, “a year of superlatives” for Lackl with the deer antlers and the checkered cloth and the “billion streams”, which makes the gold and platinum man “one of the most popular and successful musicians and entertainers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland”, as a press release from the tour organizer praises him. And further: “He is a true force of nature and a passionately celebrated musician who is deeply anchored in the hearts of his fans.”
It should be briefly mentioned that Munich plays a small part in the supernatural success. Not only did Gabalier play big here in the – by his standards – small Olympic Hall in May (and once again he was a little upset that you weren’t allowed to say “Winnetou” anymore…); No, he has always located this as the “epicenter of folk rock’n’roll” since he was allowed to play an open-air event here in front of 90,000 fans in 2022. In fact, it is thanks to his project “The Great People’s Rock’n’Roll Fan Festival”, which was started before Corona, that the outdoor area of the Munich trade fair is used for Hulapalu and other major musical events from the Helene Fischer concert to “Rolling Loud” hip-hop festival can be used.
Nevertheless, Gabalier will play here again next year on a “smaller” scale, namely for the fifth time in the Olympic Stadium (June 22nd). Otherwise, he tends to hold back, perhaps works on new songs, and only gives “a few selected open air dates”, starting on April 4th at the “Top of the Mountain Spring Concert” in Ischgl (then in Bad Segeberg, May 25th). , in the Biathlon Arena in Oberhof, May 31st, in Dresden, June 1st, on the Loreley, June 7th, and in the Baden-Baden racecourse, June 8th).
