Andechs: The prison in which Alfons Schuhbeck is imprisoned – Munich

Star chef Alfons Schuhbeck is now serving his sentence, like Uli Hoeneß once did, in the correctional facility in the Rothenfeld district, a very special prison that lets its inmates work in agriculture.

At first glance it is an idyll. From a distance, the yellow-painted buildings look like an estate, or rather, like a historic property with a large church in the middle of nature. Forests and meadows as far as the eye can see. The König-Ludwig-Weg leads directly past the ensemble, on which you can, for example, hike from Pöcking on Lake Starnberg to Andechs Monastery on the Holy Mountain. If it weren’t for the white barred windows and the many signs saying “no photography” and a ban on entry for unauthorized persons, hardly anyone would have guessed that this property is a prison. More precisely, it is the branch of the Landsberg am Lech correctional facility in the Rothenfeld district of Andechs, where star chef Alfons Schuhbeck is serving his sentence after being transferred on February 5th.
