And the best-selling books in 2023 are… (oh no, these are not three books by Guillaume Musso)

Watch out for the shelves, the earth will shake on planet books. For the first time since 2011, Guillaume Musso should not be the biggest paper seller of the year, all titles combined. It appears only once in the 50 best-selling titles of the year (The Unknown Woman of the Seine), according to a ranking published Thursday by the GfK institute.

But then who do we find in this top 50? Comics, since the new Asterix album, The white Iris, is by far the best-selling book in France in 2023 with 1.59 million copies sold in two months.

It is ahead of Gaston Lagaffe’s new album, The Return of Gaston. The 22nd album of Lagaffe’s character sold 479,000 copies. Watch over herthe novel by Jean-Baptiste Andrea which won the Goncourt prize at the beginning of November, completes the top three, with 434,000 copies.

Da Costa, star maker

The cumulative sales champion should be Melissa Da Costa, who places four titles in this top 50. The Star Maker And Women at the End of the Worldits new releases for 2023, are in 36th and 48th places, and two older titles, Phantom Pains And All the blue of the skycome in 9th and 11th places.

In this top 50, the American Colleen Hoover is present with three titles (including Never again4th), in French literature, Maud Ankaoua also has three (among which Zero kilometer, 5th), and Pierre Lemaitre, Sarah Rivens, Virginie Grimaldi and Franck Thilliez, two each. So how many do you have at home?
