An Iraqi on S file and in an irregular situation arrested and placed in a detention center

A 48-year-old Iraqi, the subject of an S file, was arrested Monday morning in Houilles (Yvelines), learns 20 minutes from a source close to the case. According to our information, the forty-year-old had been followed by a police officer from the DRPP (Intelligence Directorate of the Paris police headquarters). The latter, fearing being recognized, asked local officials to arrest the suspect.

A few minutes later, the police arrested this man, residing in Créteil (Val-de-Marne), who was under OQTF (obligation to leave French territory) without incident. After questioning the prefecture, the police took him in the afternoon to the CRA (administrative detention center) in Plaisir.

Contacted by 20 minutesneither the Police Prefecture nor the Val-de-Marne prefecture have responded, for the moment, to our questions on the reasons which motivated the hasty arrest of this man.

Extremely firm instructions

After the Arras attack, the Minister of the Interior gave extremely firm instructions to the prefects. In a telegram sent on October 16, Gérald Darmanin asked state representatives in the departments to take measures to expel “any foreign national reported by the intelligence services representing a threat to public order”. Objective: accelerate the expulsion of 193 foreigners in an irregular situation, registered with the FSPRT (file of radicalized people). According to Gérald Darmanin’s entourage, 922 have been since 2015, including more than 800 since 2017.

The Minister of the Interior also ordered the prefects to review the administrative situation of the 2,852 foreigners registered with the FSPRT and in a regular situation. He wanted them to be “systematically” expelled if they are “followed by the intelligence services on grounds of radical Islam”.
