The facts took place on the night of Thursday to Friday, around 3:30 am. A man, armed with a gun according to information from RMC, entered a taco restaurant in Villeurbanne, near Lyon. In this snack, two employees were present as well as a customer. According to the first elements of the investigation, the individual demanded the contents of the cash register, threatening people with his weapon, said the Lyon prosecutor’s office.
“When the criminal was about to leave, one of the two employees tried to intervene,” he added. The respondent fired several times at him, hitting him in the lower abdomen and thigh, before fleeing. The victim was quickly taken to hospital by paramedics but died of his injuries.
The prosecution, having immediately moved to the scene, opened an investigation of the heads of theft with a weapon and intentional homicide which it entrusted to the services of the Zonal Directorate of Judicial Police (DZPJ). The perpetrator of this robbery is actively sought.
