According to the town hall, which lodged a complaint, the establishment was the victim of a fire, the premises were degraded and video and computer equipment was stolen. “The ransacking of the school (…) is quite simply revolting, protests Jean-Paul Fournier (LR), the mayor of Nîmes. How to imagine that a sacred place of the Republic, where learning and knowledge are transmitted, is thus vandalized (…) Fortunately, the flames have been stopped, but one of the buildings is unusable for a while. “
Part of the premises is not accessible. “The establishment will be able to accommodate from Thursday, 75% of the students. For the remaining 25%, the city is studying several scenarios to maintain their face-to-face or distance education until Monday, when the whole school reopens, ”the town said on Tuesday. For her part, Sophie Béjean, the rector of Montpellier, “strongly condemns this act of vandalism”.
