An armed man in the streets of the village of Lardin-Saint-Lazare, residents called to stay at home

The inhabitants of the village of Lardin-Saint-Lazare (Dordogne), are called to remain confined at home this Sunday morning. An armed man is on the run in the streets of this town of 1,800 inhabitants. A vast gendarmerie operation was launched to find his trace.

According to a press release from the prefecture, 150 soldiers are deployed (including 60 from the Dordogne gendarmerie group) and two helicopters have been called in as reinforcements to find this individual, armed and dangerous. The National Gendarmerie Intervention Group (GIGN) is also present on site.

The gendarmes called for family violence

The gendarmes were called in the middle of the night from Saturday to Sunday, for family violence. According to BFM TV, the ex-partner of a woman would have sought to attack the new companion of this one. When the gendarmes arrived, the violent man allegedly fired in the direction of the soldiers, before fleeing.

A security perimeter was established, and several roads were cut.
