An investigation is underway to understand the exact circumstances of the tragedy. The circumstances which led to an 8-year-old child dying this Saturday in the Grand-Bornand ski area, in Haute-Savoie, as reported by France 3.
Our colleagues indicate that the child, who was wearing a helmet, “was skiing on a blue slope with his father”, as reported by Benoit Defournel, the deputy prosecutor. He then fell and veered onto the black Lachat slope.
The victim then slipped several hundred meters, the track being icy. Transported by helicopter to Grenoble University Hospital, he did not survive his injuries.
