The last ice age transformed the landscape high above Lake Ammer into an idyll. Gentle green hills, fertile soil, the Alps rise in the distance. With Föhn, the special southerly wind in this area, which causes severe headaches in sensitive people, the mountain range appears as if it were rising directly behind the Andechs monastery.
