Chiefs and 49ers in the Super Bowl in Las Vegas

In 2020, Mahomes won his first Super Bowl with the Chiefs by beating the 49ers. On February 11th there will be revenge in Las Vegas – because the Lions lost the victory with St. Brown.
The Kansas City Chiefs get in Super Bowl the chance to defend their title for the first time in 19 years – for the San Francisco 49ers it is the opportunity for revenge.
“The Chiefs are still the Chiefs,” said Taylor Swift friend Travis Kelce after the 17:10 win against the Baltimore Ravens. A few hours later, the 49ers made a comeback against the Detroit Lions with Brock Purdy as playmaker. Amon-Ra St. Brown’s team led by 17 points at halftime, but still had to admit defeat 31:34. The Lions are still the only team in the National Football League that has never played in the most important game of the season in the Super Bowl era.
The Chiefs, on the other hand, are now experienced participants in the big spectacle at the end of the NFL season; in Las Vegas on February 11th, the team can win their third title in the past five years. For the first time since the New England Patriots 19 years ago, the team can defend the title. The Chiefs had the chance to do this three years ago, but then lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The year before there was a 31:20 win against the 49ers – and the first Super Bowl for quarterback Patrick Mahomes, coach Andy Reid and tight end Kelce. Back then, Kelce celebrated the success with a short vocal performance of the Beastie Boy hit: “You gotta fight for your right to party!” (“You have to fight for your right to party”).

He also sang the song again in Baltimore at the award ceremony for winning the American Football Conference and made his superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift laugh on the lawn. It remains to be seen whether the singer will be there in two weeks and possibly steal attention from halftime show artist Usher. 24 hours before the game starts in Las Vegas, she still has a concert on her Eras tour in Tokyo on her calendar.
The 49ers around Brock Purdy are sure to be at the Super Bowl premiere in the gambling metropolis. When San Francisco lost to the Chiefs in Miami four years ago, he was still two years away from his NFL debut. Now he led his team to a comeback that had never been seen in a championship game in NFL history. The 49ers turned a 7:24 lead at halftime into a 24:24 lead within a few minutes of the third quarter and never relinquished control after that.
The Lions’ strong season ends dramatically
For the St. Brown Lions, a strong season ended in dramatic fashion. In California, the Lions dominated the first half, the hosts seemed at a loss. But the Lions lost the thread in the third quarter. Josh Reynolds dropped good passes twice and brought his team’s attacks to a standstill. The decisive scene of the game was a long pass from Purdy immediately before the second touchdown. Lions defender Kindle Vildor almost intercepted the pass but hit his helmet. From there it jumped into the air and Brandon Aiyuk caught it 51 yards short of the end zone.
