Amélie Oudéa-Castéra’s salary pinned down by the parliamentary commission of inquiry

Amélie Oudéa-Castéra does not escape criticism in the report of the parliamentary commission of inquiry, which The Team was able to consult. The current Minister of National Education, Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games is notably singled out for her salary as general director of the French Tennis Federation, a position held between March 2021 and May 2022.

Questioned on November 16 by deputies about her remuneration, the minister declared: “This remuneration of 500,000 euros must be compared to the 100 million euros generated by the FFT thanks to its particularly efficient economic model linked to the Roland-Garros tournament. At the Federation, I increased staff numbers, reduced costs, found new partnerships and created economic and financial value for this institution which does not receive a single euro of public subsidy. »

MEPs point to an increase in remuneration “minimized” by “AOC”

The next day, “AOC” sent a letter to correct its comments, specifying that the FFT had received 1,280,000 euros in 2022, in order to avoid being reported for perjury. In its report, the CEP nevertheless recalls that “the General Inspectorate had called for reconsideration of the level of remuneration of the ten main executives of the FFT” in February 2022. She was alarmed by the remuneration “considerable, even abnormal” of his predecessor.

The gross annual salary of Jean-François Vilotte, now CEO of the French Football Federation, was 373,750 euros, with an annual target bonus of 37,375 euros. “It is clear that this request was not respected by the French Tennis Federation,” can we read in the report.

“At the Federation, my remuneration was very close to that of my predecessor,” said Amélie Oudéa-Castéra during her hearing, “minimizing the increase of more than 86,000 euros, as largely as it minimized the public support granted by the State to the FFT”, write the deputies. “All these elements are public and declared to the HATV (High Authority for transparency in public life) “, commented the minister’s entourage.

The General Inspectorate surprised by the absence of “recruitment procedures”

Still in the report, we learn that the General Inspectorate was surprised by the absence of “recruitment and search procedures for senior executives, interviews by a dedicated unit” for the recruitment of Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, “taking into account the remuneration charged”.

The latter therefore recommend“establish a remuneration scale both for the Federations and for the organizing committees of major international sporting events” and of “establish recruitment panels for senior federal management positions”.
