The Internet company Amazon has opened its books and presented its figures for the past financial quarter.
For Amazon, the third fiscal quarter of 2023 ended with a big jump in profits. Earnings per share improved from $0.280 to $0.94. The company earned more than analysts expected: the market estimates in advance were EPS of $0.585.
Revenues also rose sharply, rising from $127.10 billion a year ago to $143.1 billion. This was also above market estimates; analysts had previously expected revenue of $141.50 billion.
The Internet giant’s shares rose 5.65 percent to $126.32 in after-hours US trading on the NASDAQ.
