Already flooding in parts of Bavaria – Bavaria

Water levels in parts of Bavaria continue to rise. In Franconia and Upper Palatinate, rivers were already flooding on Thursday night, as the flood intelligence service (HND) announced. There was widespread slight proliferation there. The HND only expects the peaks in the coming days. According to information, the water levels in the northern tributaries of the upper Main will continue to rise until Friday and in the northern tributaries of the Danube until Saturday night.

Water levels of levels two and three may also occur locally towards the weekend. Flooding from agricultural and forestry areas and roads to built-up areas and cellars is then possible. This primarily affects the section of the Main between the Upper Franconian communities of Mainleus and Kemmern, the tributaries of the Franconian Saale and the river itself in Lower Franconia, as well as areas along the Regen in Upper Palatinate.

The continuous rain should initially continue north of the Danube on Thursday and Friday morning, but then ease off in the afternoon, according to the weather forecast from the German Weather Service (DWD). In the Alps and the foothills, however, the meteorologists predicted only intermittent rain and some sun with mild temperatures of up to 15 degrees for both days. While the DWD expects isolated gusts on Thursday, the wind will decrease on Friday.
