Alpine skiing: high tension before the district final – district of Munich

Winter sports enthusiasts had to wait a long time this year, but now the conditions are the way skiers want them to be. Just in time for the first district cup race of TSV Oberhaching in Hopfgarten, there was enough snow for the race. More than 250 district athletes caught racing fever: they prepared themselves and their skis and set off for Tyrol to compete in the first giant slalom.

It turned out to be a long day because two runs were to be run for the classes women and men up to 21 years of age. After the girls U16 the second round had to be stopped – it would have been too late. A week later, the night slalom in Bad Wiessee was on the agenda.

TSV Unterhaching and TSV Ottobrunn organized the ski event with excellent slope conditions, no wind, light snowfall and a rhythmic course setting by the young trainer Vincent Kopf. Almost 240 athletes offered great performances and exciting skiing to the numerous spectators. Every hundredth of a second was fought for.

After a day’s break, the skiers met again in Hinterthiersee in Austria for the TSV Neuried giant slalom. The demanding slope, on which races of the International Ski Federation FIS and European Cup races are also held, demanded full use of their skills and physical condition from the racers. How high the performance density in the district of Munich is in the meantime is shown by the fact that both the women and the men drove different athletes the best times of the day.

The final race will take place on February 26th at the Ochsalm

At the TSV Oberhaching giant slalom in Hopfgarten, it was Marla Bündner (TSV Unterhaching, U18) and Leo Pasel (Munich Youngsters, U21). At night slalom Mia Sophie Kraft (TSV Oberhaching, U14) and Leo Pasel (Munich Youngsters, U21). At the RS in Hinterthiersee Lea Deutschenbaur (TSV Oberhaching, U16) and Taroh Katayama (Munich Youngsters, U16).

Even after three competitions, hardly any racing driver has yet qualified for the regional cup final of the SVM on March 20th in Küthai. Who is allowed to start there will be decided in the fourth race, which Kirchheimer SC is organizing on Sunday, February 26, in Kirchberg on the Ochsalm. District administrator Christoph Göbel will also award the challenge trophies there for the best students and the best in the youth classes U16 to U21 in the overall ranking. So tension is guaranteed.
