21 years after the end of the cult series: Calista Flockhart (59) celebrated a reunion with her colleagues from “Ally McBeal”. The stage at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater was decorated for the occasion like the famous unisex toilet from the comedy series. Calista Flockhart delivered a monologue in her iconic role as a chaotic lawyer.
Then her colleagues Peter MacNicol (69), Gil Bellows (56) and Greg Germann (65) entered the scene. The “Ally McBeal” stars danced together like in the old days of the series to Barry White’s “You’re the First, The Last, My Everything”.
Calista Flockhart celebrates “talented, magical cast”
“I loved working with Peter, Gil and Greg, and I still do,” Calista Flockhart said on the Emmy stage. In addition to the “talented, magical cast,” the actress also praised the “brilliant” series creator David E. Kelley (67). “‘Ally McBeal’ was groundbreaking and revolutionary, introducing us to a dancing baby and unisex toilets and defying convention with humor and humanity,” Flockhart continued.
Between 1998 and 2002, Calista Flockhart played the title character in “Ally McBeal”. The outwardly tough lawyer, but sometimes confused on the inside, ushered in a new era of multi-dimensional female roles on TV together with “Sex and the City” (1998-2004). According to People The stars of “Ally McBeal” last appeared together at the TV Land Awards in 2015.
“Ally McBeal” wasn’t the only series to have a reunion at the 75th Emmy Awards. To mark the anniversary of the TV industry’s most important award, the makers also brought the stars from “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Frasier” and “American Horror Story” onto the stage.
