Allgäu: Two deliverers dispose of more than 470 letters – Bavaria

Two mail carriers disposed of a total of 477 letters in a bin and on a meadow in the Allgäu. The reason given by both men aged 34 and 22 was the work overload, as the police announced on Friday. The 34-year-old had disposed of 293 letters in a waste paper bin in Bad Wörishofen (Unterallgäu district). A local resident discovered them on Tuesday morning. A man found the remaining 184 letters on Monday in a meadow near Markt Wald.

A 22-year-old suspect confessed to the crime and brought police other letters he had hidden in his private vehicle. All letters have been handed over to the postal company and are expected to be sent to the recipients in the coming days. According to the police, both postmen are expecting a report.
