A tourist from Berlin fell while climbing the Tegelbergsteig in the Ammergau Alps and succumbed to his injuries. Witnesses had alerted the mountain rescue service in Ostallgäu on Monday, which, however, could only determine the death of the 63-year-old, as the police announced.
The Berliner fell free about 50 meters and then slid further downhill, as a police spokesman said on Tuesday. The mountain rescue service’s crisis intervention team took care of the man’s wife, who had taken the train to the Tegelberg.
