The men are strongly suspected of having been involved in the demolition of ATMs as perpetrators or backers between May 2021 and the end of August 2022. They are accused of twelve acts in North Rhine-Westphalia, four in Lower Saxony, three in Rhineland-Palatinate and one blast each in Saarland, Hesse and Luxembourg.
According to the BKA, the alleged perpetrators caused property damage of more than two million euros in addition to stolen cash of one million euros. On Twitter, the authority described the arrests as an “international success”.
